Besides the occasional references to a Swissy, it really is just a basic hand book on all dog information. But is does have a tun of useful information regardless. The author does repeat herself a couple times throughout the book (when a dog becomes a senior, leashes, collars and crate training) which she just rephrases a little differently. I normally get Barron's but found this book to be better in terms of details. They have roughly the same information in each book but this one gave a lot more pictures which i found useful.I do recommend you get another Swissy book along side this one; preferably the one by Shannon Hennigan. It's a very small book (don't pay more then $10) but it's 100% dedicated on JUST Swissy information. I have not read the one by Jim Barton, but have heard it's a pretty basic guide, too.
